The Foundation of Purpose and Intent in Shaping Our Lives

Purpose and intent are not just buzzwords; they are the guiding forces behind every creation, the architects of our destiny. They precede everything, setting the stage for what's to come. Even when we're not overtly aware of it, purpose and intent are silently steering our course, offering us the potential to be limitless, keeping us wholly engaged even in the most mundane moments. It's easy to imagine that anything can become stale after enough repetition, sparking a craving for novelty—this is where dopamine, the brain's pleasure neurotransmitter, often comes into play.

However, when the intention behind a business or any venture is solely to generate wealth, I wonder if we're not misusing dopamine, missing out on the broader spectrum of fulfillment and transcendence that comes from a deeper purpose. I've always viewed business as an endeavor to identify a gap or a problem within the marketplace and then create a solution to bridge that gap. The magnitude of the problem and the nobility of the purpose behind solving it speak volumes not just about the potential for growth but also about the value of the contribution to the community.

This perspective reminds me of balancing dopamine and serotonin in the brain. Chasing after goals selfishly can lead to an addictive cycle of wanting more, akin to an addict's pursuit. In contrast, focusing on community and belonging transforms our efforts into something far more meaningful and inclusive.

Reflecting on a challenging period living in a small town, I remember seeking an escape from my immediate circumstances through manifestation, specifically, manifesting winning the lottery. I journaled about donating a portion of my hypothetical winnings to nonprofits and even planned out buying a condo, demonstrating to the universe my readiness and responsibility. Yet, the universe responded with a resounding lesson that actions speak louder than words, showing me that winning the lottery wasn't my path. Instead, it taught me the importance of being the change I wished to see in the world.

This lesson extended to other areas of life as well. To achieve fitness, we must start exercising and eating right today. To acquire wealth, we must show we can live within our means and manage our finances responsibly. To attract a partner, we must create space in our lives for them. And to make an impact on the world, we need to actively engage with it and discover what truly matters.

These experiences laid a solid foundation ready for growth. Today, I stand more conscious, intentional, and purposeful than ever before. I understand the components that comprise the whole of my being because I've spent time with each aspect, nurturing them with love and placing them just right. Now, all parts of me can grow in unison, guided by the powerful forces of purpose and intent.
